About: In October 2022, we started a Feline Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program to help reduce the overpopulation of cats in our area, provide resources for individuals who cannot afford vetting costs, as well as promoting better health for cats in our community. We rely on grants, community donations, and fundraisers to fund this program. As funds and vet availability is available we will set-up clinics and notify of upcoming clinics via our email list and this webpage. We try and announce an event on the first of the month if we are able to schedule a clinic that month.
Why it's important:
Statistics of our Program:

Due to a change in veterinary availability, our current clinic veterinarian will be unavailable until fall/winter. Because of this, we will be pausing our Low Cost Spay & Neuter Program until she is able to return.
We know how important this program is to our community, and this was not an easy decision. These clinics have helped many families access affordable care while also working to reduce cat overpopulation, and we are incredibly grateful for the support they’ve received.
While our clinics are paused, we are:
-Exploring alternative partnerships and opportunities
-Looking into additional resources we may be able to offer
-Continuing to prioritize solutions that support our community
We will share updates as soon as we have more information.
In the Meantime: We strongly encourage community members to take advantage of other low-cost spay and neuter programs in the area (listed at the bottom of this page)
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this temporary pause. Our goal remains the same: to support both pets and the people who love them.
Thank you for being part of our community
— Pope County Humane Society

Pope County Humane Society’s Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinics are offered as a community service to support individuals experiencing financial hardship and to help reduce cat overpopulation. We strive to host 1–2 clinics per month, as funding and veterinary availability allow. Due to high demand and limited space, clinics frequently sell out quickly, and alternative resources should be explored if you are unable to secure a ticket.
Our low cost spay and neuter clinics are a limited-capacity, community-funded program and tickets sell out quickly, often within an hour of being posted. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and must match your cat’s gender. We do not maintain a waitlist. If you are unable to bring your cat to the clinic for any reason, your ticket purchase will be considered a donation and helps support future clinics. We strongly encourage reviewing the Other Resources section at the bottom of this page and contacting your local veterinarian for additional spay/neuter options.
Cats cannot have ringworm, fleas, or lice. These are highly contagious and we want to protect the cats in clinic as well as shelter animals.

Monetary Support: This program is made possible by donations from our community. If you can spare some extra cash, please consider donating to this program. Each event cost roughly $1,300 for 20 cats to get spayed/neutered. You can mail check to Pope County Humane Society, or donate through our donation platform linked in this post. Under "Designation" select "Low Cost Spay and Neuter Fund"
Checks can be made out to Pope County Humane Society with Low Cost Spay and Neuter donation in Memo line. Can be mailed to: 17584 195th Avenue, Glenwood MN 56334.
