Do you enjoy working with people while supporting animals in need?
Class Act Thrift Shop is looking to hire friendly, dependable, and team-oriented Retail & Donation Associates to help support the daily operations of our store. All proceeds from the store directly benefit the Pope County Humane Society and the animals in our care.
Shift hours are Fridays and Saturdays 9:30am-5pm. Wage starts at $11.41/hour, but willing to discuss. Starting wage is negotiable based on experience.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide friendly and welcoming customer service to shoppers and donors while assisting with sales, promotions, and general store questions.
- Operate the cash register, accurately process purchases and donations, handle multiple forms of payment, and follow cash handling procedures.
- Accept, sort, organize, clean, and prepare donated items for the sales floor while following store donation guidelines.
- Maintain organized and attractive merchandise displays while helping keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming for customers and volunteers.
- Assist with general store maintenance including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, organizing donation areas, taking out garbage, and other daily cleaning tasks.
- Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers while following all Class Act Thrift Shop and Pope County Humane Society policies and procedures.
- Safely perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting donations, stocking shelves, and working in a fast-paced retail environment.

We’re looking for a dependable, caring, team-oriented person to join our shelter team as a Shelter Care Attendant.
This position is about more than animal care. You’ll help keep our shelter running smoothly, care for the animals, welcome visitors, assist adopters, and work alongside staff and volunteers to create a positive experience for both people and animals.
If you enjoy working with animals, people, and a team, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do
- Care for our shelter animals by feeding, walking, cleaning, providing enrichment, and monitoring their health and behavior.
- Safely handle animals of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Keep animal areas, common areas, laundry, dishes, and the overall shelter clean, safe, and organized.
- Welcome and assist adopters, visitors, volunteers, and community members with friendly, professional customer service.
- Help potential adopters learn more about our animals and have a positive experience at the shelter.
- Maintain accurate animal care information and follow established shelter procedures.
- Work closely with staff, volunteers, and management to keep the shelter running smoothly.
- Assist with events, programs, and other shelter activities when needed.

Animal handling or customer service experience is a plus, but it’s not required. We’re willing to train the right person.
Schedule & Pay
Full-time or Part-time | Flexible scheduling
Available shifts include:
- Weekday evenings: 3 PM–8 PM
- Weekends: 7 AM–3 PM or 3 PM–8 PM
Competitive pay based on experience.
